These steps cover both Editions of Visual Reviews, from version 1.0.0: Free is Atelier Visual Reviews – Photo & Video Product Reviews for WooCommerce and Pro is Atelier Visual Reviews – Photo & Video Product Reviews for WooCommerce Pro. Each is a complete plugin, and Licence and Account says what each one needs from your Plugins Atelier account.

  • Visual Reviews works with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).

  5. In WordPress, go to Visual Reviews > Settings.
  6. In the Platform services card, paste the key in Connection key.
  7. Choose the same installation type.
  8. Select Connect.

The Platform services card of the Settings screen before connecting, marked Not connected: the
Connection key field, the Production and Non-production installation types and the Connect
button.

The screen confirms with “Store connected.” and the card then says Services active. If it says anything else, Licence and Account explains each state and what to do, and how long a key works.

Review the first settings

Before you start:

  • Visual Reviews is active, in either Edition.
  1. Go to Visual Reviews > Settings.
  2. Check Publishing policy, Review request emails and Review reminders. The Settings reference gives each default and what you can change.
  3. Enter your address in Test email address.
  4. Select Send test email.
  5. If you changed a setting, select Save settings.
  6. Go to Visual Reviews > Widgets.
  7. On the Visual reviews widget card, select Customize to check the widget’s settings.

The Publishing policy, Review request emails and Review reminders cards of the Settings screen
with their defaults: Auto-publish 4-5 star verified reviews selected, request emails on and sent
after 7 days with a link that expires after 90 days, the Reply-to email and Test email address
fields, reminders on after 7 days, and the Save settings button.

The Widgets screen of Visual Reviews: the Visual reviews widget card, marked Active, and the Star
rating badge card, marked Inactive, each with its Customize and How to place it
buttons.

The test email reaches your inbox and creates no review request, and saving confirms with “Settings saved.” A product page of your store then shows the widget below the product summary, with “No reviews yet.” until its first review is approved.

The Customer reviews widget on a product page without approved reviews: “No reviews yet. Approved
customer reviews for this product will appear here.”

Check that it works

Your first review follows one test order from Completed to a review published on its product page.
